Hey guys,

wanna share a beautiful blog, especially if you like to travel. There has many beautiful views wold wide, famous views and unfamous views, but they are all special. They are not super fancy. They are more likely the pictures that makes you feel closed to our everyday life. Those are the views that we might see in famous places, but we sometimes ignor them. Such as the picture taken in Saskatoon. It's not a super fancy picture, but it makes me feel peaceful. It makes me think about old couples who loves each other for many years and sitting together on that chair, gazing the clear lake quietly without any words. It is the power better than the saying any words.

Some things I liked about this blog are as follows:

1. wide range of topics and information on going green from food, fasion, oil sands

2. helps one be informed about development

3. gives links to other blogs/websites

4. it is educational

Two things I disliked about the blog are first, I found it too graphic in areas, and secondly, too many links

The picture comes from The Party Dress. A friend of mine introduced me to this Blog. It has some real fun ideas for kids/adult get-togethers.

LIKES: 1. The fun ideas

2. All the color gives me a happy feeling

3. It is catagorized

DISLIKES: 1. I get tempted to purchase from advertisements

2. The ideas are so good and fun to look at that I spend too much time on it.

Although this Blog is not as colorful as "The Party Dress" blog, I found I my likes and dislikes about the blog similar.

This is a snap shot of our babysitter and her puppy Molly. Their family blog is Echoes Of Laughter.

The blog title tells alot about this family and their blog. The family is well connected and spend much time together having fun. They are just great people! Since they are the only family members in the West, I like how they are able to share their happenings with friends and family in Nova Scotia. Since this blog is on a personal level, I find it tough to find flaws with it.

My second web page that I will recommend is for ladies ( men can find it useful too, if they are looking for a perfect present for their other half ).
This website is all about jewellery. The owner makes her jewellery from natural crystals and beads by hand. She creates her own designs, which are unique and work for glamorous parties as well as every day life. The website looks very professional. There are a lot of pictures of the owner's work. The page is updated and refreshed very frequently.

But there are somethings that need to be done on the page. The website lacks a little color and I think it needs more information and content.

Hi everyone.

Take a look at this page about Canadian Festivals. In my opinion its really useful and it brings Canadians together. On this website, you can easily find out what events are taking place in what province. If you are going on vacation, using this page will help a tourist plan their trip. You can also read about the origin of the festival.

I recommend this page for all Canadians and for newcomers. Here is the link :

A little taste of the planet: My secound choice is Planet Organic blog, it is full of colour. Again it is easy to use, and has a lot of useful information. There are recipes, discounts, upcoming community events. True they are marketing the company, but they are doing it in an esy to read fashion. The blog is a cookbook/ local paper online. Take a peak at the "greek quasedillas" pictured above.

the first evaluation of your work

Hello, Everyone -



It was with pleasure that I read your postings and commentaries. As mentioned, I am impressed with the community that you've established among yourselves already - grab a cup of coffee, have a seat, and contribute! It's a cosy tone that you've established, and I look forward to reading more. It seems that one of you takes the lead on a comment, and the rest follow.


You've met the requirements for the first set of posts - I like the inferences you've made re: DL, and the seemingly new (renewed?) respect that you have for the 'net and all of its possibilities, both positive and precarious. Keep up the good stuff. My only concern is that each member ensures that her contributions are equitable to the others and consistent.

I'm looking forward to an expansion of your work - more visuals, links to other sites would be welcome.

Speaking of which, I'd like each of you to surf the 'net, specifically for other weblogs.

Have a look at both personal and corporate. Focusing on the corporate genre, please log commentary on what you like and dislike about layout, style, and content.

Please provide a summary of your own viewing, as well as commentary of your group members' input on this topic. I will peek in on your progress periodically and will evaluate again November 22.

Digital Literacy

Like Hazvineyi and I mentioned in our presentation, the way we learn, communicate and take in information today impacts the way we live and work, and is definitely different than a decade or two ago. The seven digital literacy skills that we studied are required to get around in the information world. Each of us has some of the skills intuitively, but some skills are still required in order for us to be more successful with the way we communicate in the digital world today. First, we need to understand what the seven skills are which we all explained well in our presentation, next, we need to recognize what area or skills we are weak in, lastly, we need to develop those skills. The need to learn the skills might sound overwhelming, but I am sure you all agree that there are aspects in each DL skill that are overlapping, one might compliment another. For e.g. Both Information and Socio-Emotional Literacy required one to be a critical thinker. To enhance our skills that we fall short on, the old adage “practice makes perfect” applies here. When we practice a skill, the skill gets strengthened. After using the digital literacy, we need to then evaluate if what we are doing works. E.g. If we open up an email where we do not know the sender and are hit with a virus, we will be much more reluctant or skeptical in opening up another email from an unknown sender.

Reproduction Literacy

Reproduction literacy is one of the digital technologies. It reproducts and recreates the acedemic works or arts to new forms of texts, visuals, or audios. It seem so complicated and requires high technical skills. Actually, it's commenly used in schools, offices and other institutions. As a student, we use to do research and find articles on internet by computers, then we create some critical ideas and reorganize the articles on powerpoint. It is an example of reproduction literacy. We reproducts the acedemic work (articles) to a new form of visual (powerpoint). Those are what I learned for digital literacy. What I want to say is that feel free to use the digital technology. Everyone in our class has the skills to apply the "complecated" digital literacy in our daily life.

It struck me in class how computers have penetrated our everyday lives, though it would be foolish of me to not acknowledge the many benefits they have brought with them, i am unsettled by this "development". Somethings we have lost i think though inconvenient where valuable. But this is for another discussion.

That said what did i learn in class about digital literacy? The loudest message i got, proceed with caution because once something is on the "web" it cannot be retrieved. I came across a new term - digital immortalilty. Also all the skills have similar requirements, critical thinking and continous learning. To understand new developments is important so as to always be able to effectively engage the various applications(digital medias) available. Also i have become even more cautious (paranoid perhaps) in my daily use of the computer.
